ComDev: Multimedia / Video: Save the Children: South Sudan Health Clinic Appeal

  • The condition of South Sudan's Primary Health Care Units (PHCUs) and Primary Health Care Centres (PHCCs) is for the most part poor. In 2011, Save the Children launched a health clinic appeal to raise over £250,000, to rebuild three PHCUs in Kapoeta, Mvolo and Juur counties. Just three months after the launch of the appeal Save the Children 2011 South Sudan Health Clinic Appeal, British citizens helped raise over £157,000 more than the target. This video shows the success of the first completed health facility, in the Lomeyen community in Kapoeta North County, Eastern Equatoria state.
